DOGS FOR ADOPTION IN SAN DIEGO
THANK YOU FOR CONSIDERING A DOG FOR ADOPTION FROM HOPE2K9 FOUNDATION!
Each of our adoptable dogs are featured on our Facebook page, with a dedicated album and bio to share with you what we know about them as they move through their program. We endeavor to post YouTube videos of the available dogs as well, so look in their albums for these links, or check out the YouTube channel directly.
The adoption fee for our available dogs can range from $400 (training not needed) to $1297 (fully trained).
Note: We do not schedule meet and greets without an adoption application on file first. No exceptions.

I have a nervous dog (who was greatly helped by going through the Hope2K9 Board & Train program) that needed a dog buddy. Because she wasn’t relaxed around other dogs, Cam helped me find a dog with the right personality to get along with my nervous girl. He went through Hope2K9 training, so it was easier to blend him into our family because both dogs knew the same rules to follow.
Adopting a dog that comes with a strong foundation of training is truly wonderful. Giving a loving home to a dog that had a rough life before is very rewarding. Here are my two on a hike (the little guy in front is the adoptee).
Hope2K9 [Foundation] is the ONLY place to adopt a dog!!
Me and my existing dog were paired with a mixey mutt who is low key, low energy, and a homebody, but with just the perfect amount of sass. She is a low maintenance dream, who doesn’t tread on the ENORMOUS ego of my Little. She is the perfect companion dog for both me and my doxie.
Our home is happier than it’s ever been, thanks to H2K9’s meticulous training and curating standards.
Thank you, Cameron Thompsen, for rescuing my little girl from the streets of El Centro, and thank you Kerianne Benkosky for training my Audrey.
What Cam and Co. do is pure magic! We sent our aussie/border collie pup to training and she is a completely different dog now, for the better! Gone are her timid days – that pup flies with me as an emotional support animal (super well behaved on all modes of transit, from crowded subways to transcontinental flights). When we adopted Mowgli, we sent him, too.
To boot, Cam helped us make a smooth transition when we brought home our baby girl, too and needed to help the dogs adjust! Under her guidance, the pack expanded beautifully and we have all the tools we need to lead our pack with structure that allows freedom and fun.
We recommend H2K9 to all our friends, and several have sent their pups and have gone on to recommend H2K9 to their friends, too. The proof is in the pudding of how amazing Cam and Co are!! Send your pup (or adopt one of Cam’s rescues) – you won’t regret it!
Hope2K9 not only helped us find our loving lab Zoey, they proved that a dog is never “too old to learn new tricks”. We board and trained our then 10 year old chihuahua/Jack Russell mix, Lulu, to be trained for a week alongside Zoey before adoption.
The progress in that one week was amazing. Anyone who visits us comments on how well behaved our dogs are, and with the tools we learned at H2K9 as owners, we hold healthy boundaries for a safer and happier home. Thank you for what you do for dogs and our community Cameron and H2K9 Team!
